Addison Trail alumnus named as finalist for 2022 William V. Campbell Trophy®

Addison Trail alumnus Nicholas D’Ambrose (pictured above, class of 2018) has been named as one of 15 finalists for the 2022 William V. Campbell Trophy®.

According to https://footballfoundation.org/news/2022/10/26/football-nff-proudly-announces-stellar-finalists-for-2022-william-v-campbell-trophy.aspx, this scholar-athlete award “annually recognizes an individual as the absolute best in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership … Candidates for the Campbell Trophy® must be a senior or a graduate student in their final year of playing eligibility, have a GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, have outstanding football ability as a first team player or significant contributor and have demonstrated strong leadership and citizenship.”

D’Ambrose is a running back at The University of Chicago, where he is pursuing a major in neuroscience and a minor in chemistry.

The 15 finalists were selected from 156 semifinalists nationwide, from among all NCAA divisions and the NAIA. Each finalist will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as a member of the 2022 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class Presented by Fidelity Investments®. The winner will be announced during the 64th NFF Annual Awards Dinner on Dec. 6 in Las Vegas.
