From Oct. 11 to 14, Addison Trail students, staff and community members recognized and celebrated Italian-American Heritage Month.
According to https://www.italianheritagemonth.com/index.html, “The purposes of Italian-American Heritage Month are educational and celebratory. (The) goal is to inform the public about the contributions made by Italians and Italian-Americans to … civilization, especially in the arts, the humanities and the sciences, and to celebrate the impact Italian culture and language have had and continue to have on our lives as Italian-Americans.”
Below are events that took place at Addison Trail, which were hosted by the school’s Italian Club.
The halls were filled with the sounds of Italian music as students went from class to class during the day, and special announcements were shared to honor the month.
Display cases and hallways at the school were decorated to honor Italian-American Heritage Month.
As a class project, students who are enrolled in Italian 4H invented a product and presented about it in Italian.
Students were invited to participate in a pasta-eating contest.
