On March 16, the Addison Trail Guidance Department hosted its annual Career/Job Fair to assist with accomplishing the school’s goal of ensuring students are career ready and have the skills and knowledge to succeed in the workforce. During the event, students were able to speak with 43 businesses and trade organizations to learn about job options available to them.
The fair was part of the school’s annual Career Week, which will be extended this year and will continue into early April. That initiative allows students to explore various careers, hear from professionals (provided by Junior Achievement of Chicago) and register to meet with guest speakers. Teachers select speakers who match their subject area to assist students in connecting class instruction with real-world career possibilities.
Addison Trail will provide students with career exploration opportunities throughout the school year. If you’re interested in participating, contact Addison Trail Guidance Counselor Mario Fernandez at mfernandez@dupage88.net or 630-628-3321.
