From Oct. 4 to 9, Addison Trail celebrated Homecoming Week with several events and activities. This year’s theme was “A Night at the Mansion,” and students and staff showed their Blazer Pride and school spirit throughout the week.

The school's Homecoming Pep Assembly (which took place on Oct. 8) might have looked a little different this year because of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, but school spirit and excitement still filled the air.

As in previous years, the assembly featured performances by student groups such as the Blazettes, Cheerleaders, Orchesis, Energy Rush and more. Also keeping with tradition, the school was decorated from top to bottom with streamers and other items the day of the event.

Potential inclement weather held off, and Addison Trail Principal Jack Andrews was thrilled to announce the assembly would be outside on the school’s football field. The event typically takes place in the school's main gym.

“We were able to do a new tradition with it being outside,” said Melissa Morales, Addison Trail special education teacher and Blazettes coach. “We had to have a backup plan, but a lot of our focus was just with it being outside.”
