Addison Trail senior signs to play for Illinois State University Women’s Volleyball Team

Addison Trail senior Jessica D’Ambrose recently signed to join and compete for Illinois State University’s (ISU) Women’s Volleyball Team. She will fill the position of libero/defensive specialist (D/S).

D’Ambrose is a four-year member of the Addison Trail Varsity Girls Volleyball Team and said highlights of her high school career include:

  • Serving as Captain of the Addison Trail Varsity Girls Volleyball Team as a sophomore, junior and senior

  • Being named as the Addison Trail Varsity Girls Volleyball Team’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) as a junior and senior

  • Being named to the West Suburban Conference Gold Division All-Conference Team as a sophomore, junior and senior

  • Being named to the Metea Valley-Oswego All-Tournament Team in 2019

  • Receiving All-American recognition after her team won the 16 Aspire division at the 2018 AAU Girls Junior National Volleyball Championships

  • Earning Daily Herald DuPage All-Area First Team honors in 2018 and 2019

D’Ambrose is undecided in her major and is looking forward to competing at ISU. She has been playing volleyball for 11 years and said the challenging nature of the sport is what makes her want to continue at the collegiate level.

“I just love the sport so much,” D’Ambrose said. “It’s so much fun and super competitive. I love the aspect of being part of a team, and I just have a huge passion for the sport. I would like to thank my coaches, family, teammates and friends for their support. And a big thank you to Sports Performance Volleyball for making me the person and player I am today.”
