Addison Trail alumnus Aaron Ozee (class of 2014) has officially released his film, “Regulus,” on Amazon Prime. Ozee debuted the movie early to provide families with entertainment as they deal with the impacts of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

The theatrical feature is based on Ozee’s children’s book of the same name and tells the story of three tiny mice, who represent innocence and youth, as they cross paths with the titular character, Regulus, who represents the more troubling moments in life. Ozee sold the production rights from his notable creation to animation group Bizarros Studio to develop “Regulus” into a movie.

The story continues to reach audiences throughout the world, as Ozee has partnered with groups to launch a printed copy of “Regulus” into space and to bring the book to Mount Everest, the Galápagos Islands and Chernobyl. And the film version also is gaining attention. According to a press release, actors, musicians, comedians, political leaders, authors, film makers, athletes and motivational speakers have expressed support for the “Regulus” movie.

An exclusive premiere was scheduled to take place on July 25 in Naperville, but that event has been canceled because of COVID-19 concerns.

“Every person has dreams,” Ozee said in the press release. “We find ourselves searching for the purpose that life has given us, but that purpose needs time before it can be understood. Attending the premiere for a new movie has been among my favorite aspirations, but going one step further, the premiere for a movie created from my own hands. Just when you think life is giving you everything you ever wanted – go back and think again. We never saw this pandemic coming, and even though celebrating the release of the ‘Regulus’ movie would have been an unforgettable experience, the movie was produced and is available on Amazon Prime. That is celebration enough.”

Those who can’t stream the “Regulus” movie on Amazon Prime can rent or buy the film on Amazon. Those who don’t have an Amazon account can find the “Regulus” movie online at https://www.regulusmovie.com.
