Addison Trail gets into the spirit of the holidays

This holiday season, Addison Trail has gotten into the spirit with several festive events.

Holiday Benefit Concert

On Dec. 4, the sounds of music filled the gym at Addison Trail during the school’s annual Holiday Benefit Concert (pictured above, photo by HR Imaging Partners). The event featured more than 20 pieces performed by Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, Concert Choir, Treble Choir, Beginning Mixed Choir, Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble. Alumni singers and instrumentalists also were invited to come on stage for a performance of George Frideric Handel’s “Hallelujah” chorus. A portion of the proceeds raised during the concert ($1,000) will be donated to the Reynaga family to help cover medical costs.

Cocoa, Cookies and Caroling
On Dec. 13, Addison Trail hosted its third annual Cocoa, Cookies and Caroling night, where participants gathered to sing holiday carols, snack on tasty treats of hot chocolate and cookies and enjoy a performance by Addison Trail’s Shades of Blue choral group. The singers even continued caroling down the street outside the school!

Principal’s Cup of Cheer

Addison Trail hosted its annual Principal's Cup of Cheer on Dec. 13. Pictured are five of the nine people who have served as Principal of Addison Trail. They are (from left) Dr. Scott Helton (current District 88 Superintendent), Dr. Adam Cibulka, Larry Weck, Jim Mortier and Michael Bolden (current Addison Trail Principal).

On Dec. 13, Addison Trail hosted its annual Principal’s Cup of Cheer. About 175 people attended this year’s event, which provides an opportunity for Addison Trail staff and retirees, District 88 administrators, local officials, Board of Education members, Booster Club members and community members to spread holiday cheer and enjoy light refreshments.

Handmade Holiday Items

On Dec. 13, Addison Trail students in the school’s LINK program displayed and sold handmade holiday items made from recycled products (pictured above).

Ugly Sweater Day
On Dec. 16, staff and students dressed up in their favorite seasonal “Ugly Sweaters” to celebrate the holidays.
