From Dec. 2 to 6, works of art created by Addison Trail students were displayed in the Commons area at the school.

The Senior Art Show was open to all seniors and featured 42 pieces in various media such as photography, 2-D and 3-D, including ceramics.

“I think being in an art class this year really made me a better artist, so I decided to enter an art piece in the Senior Art Show because I was finally proud of my art,” said Anahi Estrada.

On Dec. 4, students had the opportunity to vote for the art piece they liked most. There also was a reception, where the artists and their family members and friends were welcome to see the display. During the reception, guests and a judge voted as well.

Winners of the show are:

Best of Show: Paulina Stachura, “Mother Nature” (pictured above)

Judge’s Choice: Elyzabeth Galeana, “In the Mountains” (pictured above)

Principal’s Choice: Fabian Hernandez, “Tradition” (pictured above)

People’s Choice: Caleb Michaliska, “Beautiful” (pictured above)

“I wanted to do something new this year,” Michaliska said. “I am in Introduction to 2-D Art, and I felt surprised when I won the (People’s Choice) award.”

Seniors, as well as all other art students, have one more chance to enter the Student Spring Art Show that will take place from April 28 to May 1, 2020.
