Responsible Use Cell Phone Policy
Responsibilities
- Cell phones may be used during passing periods in the hallways.
- Cell phones may be used in the Commons and the Student Cafeteria.
- Cell phones may not be used in the hallways during academic time, classrooms, LMC, study halls, or during assemblies.
- Cell phones will be for your personal use and will remain on silent mode during all times.
- Cell phone use is also not permitted in areas where privacy is expected, such as restrooms and locker rooms.
- The use of videotaping functions is not permitted at any time.
- The use of the speaker function and blue tooth technology is not permitted at any time.
- Students must turn off and put away a cell phone when requested by a staff member at any time.
Consequences
- If a cell phone is used, seen or heard in a restricted area or during a restricted time, the consequence will be:
- 1st Offense: Extended Detention (3:10 – 5:50) & call home
- 2nd Offense: ISI + phone confiscation with parent pickup
- 3rd Offense: Parent conference & loss of cell phone privileges for a period of time, as decided by school administration and/or Deans + possible suspension
- Defiance: Refusal to turn over phone or put phone away when requested will result in ISI and/or OSS, depending on the circumstances
