District 88 shares important reminder regarding spectator expectations

At District 88, our core values include ensuring all stakeholders feel safe, valued, respected and welcome.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure and supportive environment, we would like to share a reminder regarding spectator expectations at District 88 events (at home and away).

During events, requirements listed in the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Handbook and District 88 Board Policy 8:32 “Spectator Conduct at School Events” are followed. This includes that all participants and attendees “practice and promote the highest principles of sportsmanship and the ethics of competition in all interscholastic relationships.”

We encourage students, parents/guardians and spectators to review Board Policy 8:32, which reads that “Any individual, including an adult, who behaves in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner during any school event or meeting, including School Board meetings, may be ejected from the event or meeting.” See the links below for more details.

Thank you for your partnership in ensuring a safe and friendly atmosphere during District 88 extracurricular events, performances and activities.
