On May 9, Addison Trail’s new Blazer Battalion U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program (which was implemented earlier this school year) hosted a “Hail and Farewell” retreat. The event took place to hail students (referred to as cadets) who are enrolled to enter the program in 2025-26 and to say farewell to 10 graduating seniors.

During the event, participants enjoyed food, games and karaoke. Awards were presented, and recognition was shown to cadets who distinguished themselves through academics, leadership and personal improvement.
Fifty-seven cadets and students who are enrolled to enter JROTC in fall 2025 were honored and received awards for academic excellence, academic achievement, participation in school/varsity sports, leadership proficiency, military appearance, participation in the JROTC Color Guard, good conduct, recruiting other students into JROTC and completing the Level 1 JROTC Program Year.
