The photo above is from a previous Young Hearts for Life® (YH4L) Cardiac Screening Program at Addison Trail. This year's event will take place on Feb. 11. Addison Trail encourages parents/guardians to take advantage of this program and to register their child today.
Addison Trail has again partnered with the Young Hearts for Life® (YH4L) Cardiac Screening Program, a not-for-profit organization, to offer electrocardiograms (ECGs) to identify Addison Trail students at risk for heart conditions that can cause sudden cardiac death (SCD).
More than 60 young adults die from SCD each week in the U.S., most without any warning signs. A simple, painless and noninvasive ECG can detect about 70 percent of heart conditions associated with SCD; a pre-participation physical can only detect about 4 percent of these conditions.
Endeavor Health Elmhurst Hospital and YH4L donors are generously sponsoring this free cardiac screening for all Addison Trail students. Addison Trail encourages parents/guardians to take advantage of this program and register their child today.
