Two District 88 Board of Education members to be honored through IASB Board Leader Recognition Program

District 88 is proud to share two Board of Education members will be honored through the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) Board Leader Recognition Program.

District 88 Board of Education President Donna Craft Cain will receive Distinguished Board Leader Annual Merit Recognition, and Board of Education member Jean Taylor will be named as an Established Board Leader. They will be honored for their accomplishments during the IASB DuPage Division Dinner Meeting on Oct. 29 at The Carlisle in Lombard.

This program celebrates board members for the time and effort they devote to learning and leadership activities provided by the association and for their service to the public education community. Craft Cain (pictured above) has served on the District 88 Board of Education since 2004 and has been Board President since 2011. She also was Board Secretary from 2009 to 2011 and has been part of all board committees. She has been a member of the IASB DuPage Division Committee since 2023, serving as the Chair since 2025. Craft Cain’s connection to District 88 goes beyond serving as a Board member – she also is an alumna of Willowbrook (class of 1981), a parent of three District 88 graduates and a longtime resident and business owner in the District 88 community.
