On Jan. 27, District 88 will host a Learning Services meeting for parents/guardians of Addison Trail and Willowbrook students who have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and/or a 504 Plan.

What: Participants will attend an informative session focused on supporting students’ growth and preparation for life after high school. Addison Trail Learning Services Department Head Julie Johnson and Willowbrook Learning Services Department Head Amy Peschke will share information on developing self-advocacy skills, including how students learn to understand their needs and communicate effectively.
District 88 Transition Program Department Head Stephanie Nitka also will provide an overview of the program and the services provided to support students as they plan for postsecondary education, employment and independent living. The District 88 Transition Program helps individuals ages 18 to 21 who have a variety of abilities learn life skills, obtain job training in a community setting and transition to life after District 88.
