On Oct. 26, District 88 and its associate elementary school districts – Addison School District 4, District 45 and Salt Creek School District 48 – hosted their annual Learning Compact Joint Board Meeting.
That event is an opportunity for Board of Education members from all four districts to come together to discuss important information taking place in each district, as well as issues facing public education.
This year’s meeting topic focused on how the districts are working together to expand bilingual parent/guardian outreach and services for English Learner (EL) students. The presenters (Erica Craig, Director of Assessment, Accountability and Biliteracy with District 88; Chris Martelli, Director of Curriculum and Instruction with District 48; Yamilette Sosa, Director of Biliteracy with District 4; and Lisa Speakman, Director of ELL-Bilingual Services with District 45) discussed the following areas:
