On May 2, Republic Airlines pilot Tony Hernandez spoke with students in Addison Trail special education teacher Chris Grice’s physics class.

The students have been working on a research project, where they create online models of airplanes/gliders to learn about laws of physics. During his presentation, Hernandez discussed the anatomy of an airplane and aspects of physics that apply to flying an aircraft, including weight, lift, thrust and drag. He also talked about Newton’s Third Law and Bernoulli's principle.
