Willowbrook Key Club members deliver thank you cards to Villa Park fire and police departments

On Sept. 11, Willowbrook Key Club members recognized the anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001, by writing thank you cards to first responders with the Villa Park Fire Department and the Villa Park Police Department.

Those thank you messages were a way to remember and honor those who lost their lives 17 years ago as a result of the terrorist attacks that took place on that day and to show appreciation for those who continue to protect our freedoms.

On Sept. 25, the students delivered those notes, along with boxes of caramel apples, to the firefighters (pictured above, at left) and the police officers (pictured above, at right) as a token of gratitude for all the first responders do for the community. Students pictured (in both photos, from left) are seniors Kayla Bjorklund (Key Club Publicity), Julia Langer (Key Club President), Brianna Bryant (Key Club Secretary) and Matt Foley (Key Club Vice President).
