On Jan. 25, the Willowbrook Guidance Department hosted the school’s third annual Career Day, in partnership with Junior Achievement of Chicago.

During that event, students were able to learn about various career options available to them. Twenty-five career professionals presented to more than 93 classrooms. Students were able to hear directly from the speakers about their experiences and ask them questions about their respective field.

Careers represented included accountant, attorney, author, chemist, chiropractor, cosmetologist, engineer, fitness trainer, graphic designer, insurance agent, investment manager, MRI and medical equipment technician, police detective, psychologist, sports and entertainment marketer, surveyor, trade and technical professional, village trustee and zookeeper.

“Career Day is a great opportunity for our students to be exposed to various industries and job options through interactive presentations that are relevant to their current courses,” said LeVar Ammons, Willowbrook Guidance Counselor. “We’re excited to continue to offer this event, and we look forward to working with Junior Achievement on this in the future.”
