Award-winning educator presents at Willowbrook

On Oct. 21, award-winning educator and local parent Andy Isaacson, who also is a former Willowbrook teacher, presented a program at Willowbrook entitled “Enhancing the Family-School Connection for Student Success” for parents/guardians.

Isaacson used video clips to show the partnership parents/guardians can develop with their son or daughter’s school and how that relationship can benefit their child. He also discussed potential obstacles that can affect students and offered solutions to help parents/guardians guide their child to greater achievement.

Honors and distinctions bestowed on Isaacson include:

  • Chicago Bears/Symetra Heroes in the Classroom Award 2011-2012
  • District 88 Star's Educator Award 2009 & 2010
  • Golden Apple Teacher Award finalist 1992 & 2005
  • Disney Teacher of the Year semifinalist 2003
  • District 88 Employee of the Year Achievement Award 1991 & 2002
  • Three-time NCAA All-American Athlete
  • Illinois State University Athletic Hall of Fame

“Enhancing the Family-School Connection for Student Success” was offered by School District 45, Salt Creek School District 48 and District 88.
