Willowbrook students awarded with academic honors from College Board National Recognition Program

Willowbrook is proud to celebrate students who earned academic honors through the College Board National Recognition Program. This year, 44 Willowbrook pupils were among the more than 300,000 recipients nationwide – the highest participation in the program’s history.

The College Board National Recognition Program consists of the following official academic awards:

  • First-Generation Recognition Award

  • Rural and Small-Town Recognition Award

  • School Recognition Award

The program gives high-achieving students an official academic award they can share with colleges on their applications to get noticed. Students of all backgrounds from schools nationwide are eligible to claim an award based on their achievement on PSAT/NMSQT (10th or 11th grade), PSAT 10 (10th) or AP Exams (8th, 9th or 10th). To be eligible, 10th- and 11th-grade students must earn a cumulative GPA of B+ or higher and either score 3 or above on two or more AP Exams by the end of 10th grade. They also qualify if they’re one of the top 10% of test takers (in their high school, among first-generation college students in their state and/or among rural and small-town students in their state).
