Willowbrook alumnus Hank Ebeling IV has always dreamed of owning his own quality training facility.
And his dream has come true, as he will celebrate the grand opening of his new business, H4 Training, this weekend in Wheaton.
Ebeling, who graduated from Willowbrook in 2003, earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. There, his passion for physical fitness and training was solidified after he worked as a trainer at Canyon Ranch SpaClub at the Venetian and Palazzo.
Soon after graduating from college, Ebeling landed a job in Chicago with Equinox fitness club. As a trainer for six years and a fitness manager for one year, there was still something missing.
“I have always (wanted to own) my own training business,” Ebeling said. “I wanted to bring quality training to the western suburbs where I grew up.”
Ebeling saw there was a need for quality personalized training in an environment where the trainer truly cares about each person’s goals and well-being.
“Many of the big-box gyms care more about memberships than they do about results and therefore often have subpar training programs,” Ebeling said. “I want to spend time with my clients, helping them experience fitness done right through working hard, eating right and living a healthy lifestyle.”
Ebeling attributes his success to his parents and his athletic experiences as a Willowbrook Warrior.
“As an athlete at Willowbrook, I was lucky enough to have some great teammates and mentors who helped me develop goals, leadership skills and a strong work ethic,” Ebeling said.
Ebeling added he has some lofty goals for his new venture.
“My primary goal right now is to build my business,” he said. “Once I’ve done that, I want to expand into other markets, so I can let individuals throughout the Chicago area experience fitness done right. I also would love to offer online training programs that people can use anywhere.”
H4 Training will celebrate its grand opening from 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 9 at 26W293 Geneva Road in Wheaton. Those in attendance will enjoy a tour of the brand-new 3,000-square-foot facility, light refreshments, door prizes (including free training sessions) and a complimentary class that will begin at 3:30 p.m. Space for the class is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
