Willowbrook hosts College and Career Week for students
Willowbrook and District 88 are committed to helping students build positive futures and post-secondary success.
As part of that focus, Willowbrook hosted a College and Career Week from April 7 to 11.
- On April 7, students had the opportunity to participate in ASVAB and career aptitude testing, as well as a résumé workshop. The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) is a multiple-aptitude test used to determine eligibility for military service and to help match individuals with suitable military jobs, based on their strengths and interests.
- On April 8, students had the opportunity to attend a Skilled Career and Military Fair to learn about options to join the trades, military, or College of DuPage skilled career programs.

- On April 9, representatives from 30 colleges and universities attended a College Fair to speak with students. Pupils were able to ask questions directly, and they received information about their various post-high school options. District 88 continues to grow college and career pathway opportunities for students and is focused on providing multiple and flexible pathways for each child to find post-high school success. Read more at www.dupage88.net/Pathways.
The district continues to work with colleges, universities and local businesses to enhance these options, and those collaborations are critical to assist with the labor shortage and to connect students to hands-on, immersive experiences, as well as certifications, credentials and scholarships. The focus is to connect them with viable short-term and long-term career options and work-based learning that can provide a supported pathway through their college pursuits. The district is always looking to develop more partnerships, and those who are interested can learn more at www.dupage88.net/BusinessPartnerships.
