Addison Trail Science Olympiad Team performs well at Regional competition

On March 8, Addison Trail’s Science Olympiad Team competed in the Regional competition at College of DuPage.

Students competed in 23 events, and 13 high schools had teams at the varsity level. 

The Addison Trail students below have qualified to compete in the Illinois Individual State Tournament (IIST) for Science Olympiad, which will take place on April 26 at McHenry County College.

  • Helicopter: Freshman Andrew Roycewicz and senior Thomas Cabrera (5th place)

  • Geologic Mapping: Senior Thomas Cabrera and junior Ebad Khan (5th place)

  • Disease Detectives: Seniors Jacqueline Bugante and Natalia De Los Santos-Castellanos (5th place)

  • Astronomy: Seniors Sean Eckel and Erick Dorado (3rd place)

  • Entomology: Seniors Jacqueline Bugante and Antonina Pecoraro (1st place – Regional Champions)
