Addison Trail hosts College Signing Day

On May 6, Addison Trail hosted a College Signing Day for Brooke Greaves (pictured above), who has committed to join the Women’s Track and Field Team at Elmhurst University.

Greaves celebrated with coaches, teammates, friends, family members, administrators and staff members.

Hurdles, high jump and sprints

How long have you participated in Track and Field?
About eight years

How long have you been on the Addison Trail Varsity Girls Track and Field Team? 
My entire high school career (four years)

What is it about this sport you enjoy so much that makes you want to continue to play at the collegiate level?
The team atmosphere for this sport – whether high school, college or club – is one of the best out of any sport. The rush of adrenaline I get from each race, and the support from my coaches and teammates to push me, is why I enjoy this sport so much.

What are highlights from your athletic career so far that you would like to share?

1. Qualifying for the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Girls Track and Field State Meet my sophomore year and junior year. I hope to qualify again this year.
   
   
2. Breaking the school record in multiple events – and then breaking my own records.
   
   
3. Running under the lights with my teammates for the first time, and falling in love with the sport.
   
   
4. Celebrating the team’s accomplishments at the end of the season, and having a water balloon fight in the hot summer weather.
