Addison Trail Theatre Director selected as Assistant Director for The Second City Training Center production

For Anna Jakubka Court, there’s no better place to be than at the theater.

That’s why the Addison Trail English teacher and Theatre Director has spent countless hours organizing various productions at the school. And now her talents can be seen on another stage – at The Second City Donny’s Skybox in Chicago.

After completing a writing program through The Second City this past spring, Jakubka Court applied to be an Assistant Director, and she has been selected for that position for The Second City Training Center's production of “The League of Ordinary People.”

“I was very excited when I was named as Assistant Director, but I knew it would be a lot of work,” Jakubka Court said. “The position is about learning how The Second City works.”

Jakubka Court is excited to continue developing her skills as a director, writer and actor, and she plans to take improvisation courses and other classes with The Second City. She also has applied to be an Assistant Director in The Mary Siewert Scruggs Works By Women Festival 2013 through The Second City, which takes place in late November.

“I want to be well-rounded and pursue other avenues with The Second City,” Jakubka Court said.
