Twelve members of Willowbrook’s Business Professionals of America Team qualify for State competition

Twelve members of the Willowbrook Business Professionals of America (BPA) Team have qualified to compete in the State competition after placing at Regionals on Jan. 8.

Those students are listed below, along with the events in which they qualified.

  • Junior Maxwell Hirsch: Banking & Finance (4th place at Regionals); Personal Financial Management (5th place at Regionals)
  • Senior Ernesto Ortiz: Intermediate Word Processing (5th place at Regionals); Linux Operating System Fundamentals (1st place at Regionals)
  • Senior Samantha Williams: Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications (1st place at Regionals); Database Applications (1st place at Regionals)
  • Senior Hayan Hussain: PC Servicing & Troubleshooting (2nd place at Regionals)
  • Senior Michael Elvery: PC Servicing & Troubleshooting (3rd place at Regionals)
  • Senior Logan Bosco: PC Servicing & Troubleshooting (4th place at Regionals)
  • Junior Chris Nasi: Computer Security (1st place at Regionals); SQL Database Fundamentals (1st place at Regionals)
  • Senior Thomas Florey: Computer Security (2nd place at Regionals)
  • Senior Jonathan Cazarez: C# Programming (1st place at Regionals)
  • Senior Talha Ali: C++ Programming (3rd place at Regionals)
  • Junior Charles May: Computer Modeling (2nd place at Regionals)
  • Sophomore Neeraja Kumar: Extemporaneous Speech (3rd place at Regionals)
  • Ali, Bosco, Cazarez and May: Computer Animation Team (1st place at Regionals)

The State competition will take place throughout the week of Feb. 22. The event will be hosted virtually because of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
