At District 88, our mission is to work for the continuous improvement of student achievement.

To accomplish that mission, we frequently meet and collaborate with our associate elementary school districts – Addison School District 4, School District 45 and Salt Creek School District 48 – to ensure we’re aligned to provide a seamless transition and a positive educational experience for all students as they enter and graduate from District 88.

One of those meetings is our annual Learning Compact Joint Board Meeting, where Board of Education members from all four districts come together to discuss important information taking place in each district, as well as issues facing public education. This year’s meeting took place on Oct. 18 and focused on our ongoing efforts to continue working together for inclusion, equity and excellence for all students.

We welcomed Gary Howard from the Gary Howard Equity Institute as our featured speaker. District 88 formed an Equity Task Force in spring 2015 to further enhance the district’s cultural competency, and that group has been participating in Deep Equity training with Howard. During the Joint Board Meeting, Howard facilitated conversation and shared information to further those efforts.

We will continue to work with our associate districts to provide a high-quality learning environment for all of our students. Thank you for your continued support of District 88.
