District 88 students visited Northern Illinois University (NIU) on Sept. 29, and seven students received acceptance letters and were admitted into the NIU College of Engineering and Engineering Technology at the end of that visit. On Sept. 29, 22 District 88 students traveled to Northern Illinois University (NIU) for a special field trip.
During the visit, students were able to participate in a campus bus tour, get an inside look at the residence halls and hear a presentation about the admissions process. They also were able to see the Engineering Building and watch NIU students operate a drone. But what made this college visit unique was students who met certain requirements were handed acceptance letters by the NIU College of Engineering and Engineering Technology before they left campus.
Seven Willowbrook seniors were admitted to NIU that day. They are Spencer Weltyk, Faria Mohammad, Zeba Hussain, Saif Nasir, Abbigail Willis, Erik Peraza and Christian Valois.
