District 88 receives three state-level communications awards

District 88 recently received three awards from the Illinois Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association (INSPRA) through the organization’s annual Communications Contest.

That state-level contest recognizes high-quality school publications and materials that promote the mission and message of a school district. District 88 received two awards in the Writing category and one award in the Special Purpose category. Below is more information about those three entries.

  • “Willowbrook senior wins IHSA Boys Wrestling State Tournament”: An article highlighting the journey of Willowbrook student-athlete Matt Rowland on his path to winning the 2016 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Boys Wrestling State Tournament in the 170-pound division.   • “District 88 remembers special education teacher”: An article remembering special education teacher and IEP coordinator Patty Kraegel, who passed away on Feb. 14, 2016, after battling cancer for several years. District 88 was recognized with those awards during INSPRA's Communications Contest & Golden Achievement Awards Luncheon on Sept. 16.
