District 88 Technology Department implements several new initiatives to ensure a high-quality learning environment

District 88 is committed to maintaining best practices with regard to technology to ensure the district is on the cutting edge to provide a high-quality learning environment for students and staff.

As part of that commitment, the District 88 Technology Department recently implemented several initiatives to continue to advance the district.

Parent Access Center (PAC) updates
Parents who wish to make online payments for cafeteria purchases can now do so through a new program at District 88 called Café Pay, which is an online cafeteria payment system. To access Café Pay, parents need to have an account through the district’s Learning Management System, Nucleus. For more information about Café Pay, including step-by-step instructions on how to sign up, go to http://dupage88.net/site/page/100 for Addison Trail or http://dupage88.net/site/page/45 for Willowbrook.

The district is transitioning from the Parent Access Center (PAC) to Nucleus because Nucleus has enhanced features PAC does not offer or support. Parents who subscribed to an automatic balance notification should contact the financial secretary at Addison Trail or Willowbrook to update their account to ensure they continue to receive reminders and to make sure they are registered in Nucleus.

Security updates
Those who have visited Addison Trail, Willowbrook or the District 88 Administrative Office recently might have noticed a new check-in system. The safety and security of students and staff is the No. 1 priority at District 88, and the district has updated its system for visitor identification through Raptor, a national database schools use for visitor identification and verification of criminal background checks (in terms of sexual offenses). At Addison Trail, Willowbrook and the District 88 Administrative Office, scanning kiosks are being added in the main-entry vestibules. These security updates and scanning kiosks allow the district to scan the IDs of visitors before they enter the buildings. These enhancements strengthen District 88’s security system and help ensure the wellbeing of students and staff.
