Addison Trail and Willowbrook continue to increase percentage of students who earn pass rate on AP exams

District 88 is proud to share Addison Trail and Willowbrook have once again seen an increase in the percentage of students who earned a pass rate (a score of 3 or higher) on College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) exams.

During the 2025-26 school year, District 88 students earned more than 6,400 college credits through AP, Project Lead The Way, College of DuPage, Technology Center of DuPage, Elmhurst University and Dominican University. These courses allow students to earn college credit while in high school, giving them a potential opportunity to save more than $2.6 million in college tuition.

During the past three years, Addison Trail and Willowbrook have seen tremendous growth and success on AP exams. Below are highlights from each school.

Addison Trail:

• The percentage of students who earned a pass rate (a score of 3 or higher) on an AP exam increased by about 28%, from about 41% in 2023 (204 students) to about 69% in 2026 (323 students).
  
  
• In 2023, students took 820 AP exams, and they took 917 AP exams in 2026.

Willowbrook:

• The percentage of students who earned a pass rate (a score of 3 or higher) on an AP exam increased by about 22%, from about 60% in 2023 (263 students) to about 82% in 2026 (444 students).
  
  
• In 2023, students took 836 AP exams, and they took 1,087 AP exams in 2026.
