District 88 honors winner of District 88 Foundation Pickleball Tournament Marketing Contest

During its Feb. 23 meeting, the District 88 Board of Education, along with the administration, congratulated and recognized Addison Trail junior Vanessa Berrum (pictured above) on being named as the winner of the 2026 District 88 Foundation Pickleball Tournament Marketing Contest.

The foundation received more than 75 entries from nearly 70 students, and Berrum’s submission (pictured below) was selected by the judges. For the contest, participants were asked to create a flyer to promote the foundation’s third annual pickleball tournament. This year’s event took place on Feb. 28 at Willowbrook. 

As the winner, Berrum’s design was used to market the event through the district’s newsletter, website and social media, as well as distributed throughout the community. 

The District 88 Board of Education and administration presented Berrum with a certificate and a $100 gift card for her tremendous work and outstanding talent.
