District 88 is thrilled to continue its “88 in 88" video series. This communication piece was launched in 2024-25, and segments feature about 88 seconds of news and highlights from the district to help keep stakeholders connected and informed.

At District 88, we offer a comprehensive curriculum that includes credentialed career-based curricular tracks, more than 30 Advanced Placement (AP) college-level courses and more than 50 dual-credit and collegiate-credit courses in 18 career pathway areas, along with award-winning fine arts programming. And we continue to expand access to college credits and industry-recognized certifications to help ensure students are prepared to successfully accomplish their post-high school goals.

The most recent episode of “88 in 88” is the first of a four-part series that will share details about these pathways and how students can connect to opportunities that provide hands-on, immersive experiences, as well as certifications, credentials and scholarships. Last school year, Addison Trail and Willowbrook students earned more than 5,500 college credits, giving them a potential opportunity to save nearly $2.6 million in college tuition. They also earned nearly 1,700 career certifications.

In this episode, District 88 Superintendent Dr. Jean Barbanente highlights the Arts and Communication pathway, which includes audio and visual technology, performing arts, visual arts, and journalism and broadcasting. She also discusses important information regarding the upcoming course selection process, as well as how to access the District 88 Course Listing Guide via SchooLinks and the pathways web page.
