Addison Trail and Willowbrook face off for a cause during District 88’s annual Dig Pink girls volleyball match

On Sept. 16, the Addison Trail and Willowbrook girls volleyball teams went head to head during District 88’s annual Dig Pink match (pictured above).

The event is part of District 88’s annual Go Pink or Go Home initiative, which raises money for breast cancer awareness and research. This year’s game was hosted at Addison Trail, and the Warriors took home the win (28-26, 27-25).

Breast cancer survivors in attendance were announced before the varsity game, and the Addison Trail and Willowbrook student-athletes presented each survivor with a pink carnation.

Raffle items and baked goods were available to buy, and the game raised $2,154 to benefit the Endeavor Health Cancer Institute.
