District 88 shares information/highlights regarding U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program

During the Sept. 8 District 88 Board of Education meeting, MSG William E. Jones and Lieutenant Colonel Michael M. Reardon presented about the U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program that was implemented at Addison Trail and Willowbrook in December 2024.

The JROTC Vision is “To provide a quality citizenship, character and leadership development program …” This is accomplished through teaching values such as personal social responsibility, teamwork and selfless service to community and others.

Jones (Addison Trail JROTC instructor) and Reardon (Willowbrook JROTC instructor) provided updates and shared highlights of the program, including student (“cadet”) successes, battalion involvement in community events/activities, and extracurricular participation beyond the classroom.
