Students invited to apply for Youth Preparedness Council

Students in eighth through eleventh grades are invited to join the Youth Preparedness Council (YPC).

YPC is a nationwide program that brings together young leaders who want to make a difference in their community and build valuable leadership skills. Council members serve for one year, collaborate on projects that promote emergency preparedness, participate in engaging discussions with FEMA leaders and gain insight into careers in emergency management.

The deadline to apply is March 3, and applications can be submitted in written or video format on FEMA’s YPC application page.

FEMA will offer two opportunities to attend an informational webinar to learn more about the YPC and participate in a question-and-answer session. These sessions are optional and will not influence final selection. The same information will be presented during both sessions. See details below.
