District 88 shares highlights of 2024 Illinois Report Card
At District 88, we work each and every day to build positive futures for our students inside the classroom and beyond.
The results of the 2024 Illinois Report Card, which were released by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) on Oct. 30, show the successes of District 88 and reflect the efforts of our Board of Education, staff, students, parents/guardians and community members.
District 88 successes and Report Card highlights include:
- Addison Trail and Willowbrook again received a summative designation of Commendable, which is the second-highest level. According to the ISBE, “A school’s annual summative designation describes how well an individual school is meeting the needs of all its students … across a range of academic and student success indicators. Illinois has five summative designations within the statewide school accountability system: Exemplary, Commendable, Targeted, Comprehensive, and Intensive.” See the links below for more information.
- Our 4-year, 5-year and 6-year graduation rates are above 90 percent and remain above the state level.
- Our 9th Grade on Track number (which is the percentage of freshmen on track to graduate) is more than 94 percent, which is above the state level.
- Our percent of students achieving at the proficient and exemplary levels on the Science Assessment is above the state level.
- Our percent of students meeting and exceeding standards on the SAT in English Language Arts (ELA) increased from 2023 to 2024.
- Our percent of students meeting and exceeding standards on the SAT in math increased from 2023 to 2024.
Other District 88 successes and highlights:
- District 88 is committed to providing multiple and flexible pathways for students to ensure they are college and career ready and continues to partner with colleges/universities and local businesses to expand these opportunities. See details at dupage88.net/Pathways.
- District 88 offers a comprehensive curriculum, including about 30 Advanced Placement (AP) courses and about 50 Dual-Credit/Collegiate-Credit courses in 17 career pathway areas, along with award-winning fine arts programming.
- During the 2023-24 school year, District 88 students earned 3,744 college credits through Advanced Placement (AP) courses, Project Lead The Way, College of DuPage, Technology Center of DuPage, Elmhurst University and Dominican University. These classes allow students to potentially earn college credit while in high school, saving them an average of $1.4 million annually.
