Thank you for another tremendous school year at District 88

It has been another tremendous school year at District 88, and I thank all of our stakeholders for your partnership in helping to accomplish our mission and vision and building positive futures for our students.

During the 2023-24 school year, students earned more than 3,000 college credits, which helps our families save more than $1 million in tuition. Pupils also received more than 1,000 career certifications and 175 biliteracy credentials, and they competed at the state and national levels in 25 extracurricular activities/sports. To read more about the outstanding achievements that took place in 2023-24, go to www.dupage88.net/D-88Successes2023-24.

This year, we enhanced our focus on expanding college and career pathways for students and providing multiple and flexible pathways for each child to find post-high school success. More information about these efforts and opportunities can be viewed at www.dupage88.net/Pathways

We also maintained our commitment to provide an environment that promotes excellence for all students and prepares each child for a successful future. To help ensure that environment, we updated our strategic plan, which was last reviewed and adopted in 2018-19. The updated plan truly reflects the depth and breadth of our work, and it will be a living document that serves as the foundation on which we operate and forms the basis of our efforts. We have a responsibility to be transparent with and accountable to our stakeholders, and the strategic plan and corresponding online dashboard allow us to achieve that objective. To read more about the plan, and to view the online dashboard, go to www.dupage88.net/StrategicPlan2023.

We know these successes are possible because of our knowledgeable Board of Education members, caring staff members, involved parents/guardians, hardworking students and engaged community members. It takes all of us working together to ensure our students reach their goals, and we greatly appreciate your collaboration.

We are incredibly proud of our students and staff, and we look forward to another great school year in 2024-25. Thank you for your continued support of District 88, and we wish you a wonderful summer break.

With District 88 Pride,
Jean Barbanente, Ed.D.
