This year, National Apprenticeship Week takes place from Nov. 14 to 20. According to www.apprenticeship.gov/national-apprenticeship-week, this event “is an opportunity to highlight how Registered Apprenticeship … provides a critical talent pipeline that can help to address some of our nation’s pressing workforce challenges …”
To recognize and celebrate this important initiative, District 88 participated in the Addison Manufacturers Apprenticeship Workforce Solutions event on Nov. 16. That event was hosted by the Village of Addison Workforce Development Committee and the Addison Chamber of Commerce to discuss and encourage collaboration among educators, employers and community leaders to create solutions that enhance education outcomes, align with industry workforce needs and promote regional economic stability.
Yvonne Tsagalis, District 88 Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, was one of the event speakers and shared information about the district’s commitment to providing multiple and flexible pathways for students to ensure they are college and career ready. District 88 continues to partner with colleges/universities and local businesses to expand these opportunities for students and invites companies to collaborate with the district and support students through the initiatives below.
