On March 23, Dr. Ferney Ramírez (pictured), a respected psychologist and coordinator of bilingual parent-education programs, presented in Spanish to about 40 District 88 parents/guardians who are members of the Padres Latinos en Acción group at Addison Trail and the Padres Unidos group at Willowbrook.
Through those groups, Spanish-speaking parents/guardians are provided the opportunity to increase their knowledge of the school system to help their students achieve at the highest level. Meeting topics include information on accessing college, financial aid, rigorous academic programming, social-emotional concerns and community issues.
Dr. Ramírez presented “The Power of Influence: How to Influence the Lives of Our Children to Make them Leaders and Responsible for Themselves,” which highlighted the decisive role parents play in their child’s life and education.
