The administration and staff at Willowbrook High School would like to welcome you to the 2008-2009 school year!

We are excited to begin this year as we build upon the success of our previous years.  As Willowbrook begins its 50th school year, we are reminded of the accomplishments of our students, both past and present, and look forward to the success of our students in the next fifty years.  There is a Warrior Pride that has been instilled and will continue to be enhanced through the efforts of all of us.

The 2007-2008 school year provided numerous opportunities for growth and improvement in our varied academic, athletic and co-curricular programs.  We continue to celebrate our installing of the Warrior Code as well as the local, state and national recognition our students have received in the areas of Advanced Placement, Automotive Technology, Music, Theater, Art, Athletics and numerous other programs.

The 2008-2009 school year will focus on the improvement and enhancement of our student intervention programs with an emphasis on creating positive relationships and learning experiences to improve student achievement. This will be supported by the continued renovation of our facility, enhancements in our technological services and the implementation of a Small Learning Communities model for ninth grade students.

In all that we do, our overreaching goal is to help all students improve in their individual capacity to learn at a high level.  We hold all students to high standards of learning and take pride in helping them be prepared for careers in a global economy and compete with the best.  We will need the commitment from everyone to help all students learn at a rigorous level. In partnering with parents, community members, teachers, and administration, we will achieve our goal.

2008-2009 Building Goal

  • Improve student achievement for all students.

Priorities for Teaching and Learning

  • Rigor - provide a rigorous and relevant curriculum for all students.  Set high expectations for all students for academics and behavior.

  • Relevance - look for new approaches to enhance learning experiences through creative, engaging lessons that are linked clearly to student interest and the expectations of the world beyond Willowbrook High School.

  • Relationships - expand our partnerships with community, parents, and businesses for a high level of engagement. Personalize learning based upon a student’s interests, learning style, aptitude, and needs.

  • Results - use student data to provide a clear focus and drive our curriculum to support high levels of student achievement.

Thank you in advance for all of your hard work this coming year. We have ahead the most important and most rewarding of work with our students and community. Through it all, we will work collectively to celebrate our successes and identify our areas for improvement.

Together we will make a difference for every Warrior.  Thank you for your commitment to Willowbrook High School.
