Safety is the No. 1 priority at District 88

At District 88, the safety and well-being of students and staff is the No. 1 priority.

As part of that focus, the district has implemented new school safety procedures this year (referred to as ALICE Training, which stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) to continue to enhance security. The district is working with the Addison and Villa Park police departments to implement ALICE Training to ensure the buildings continue to follow best practices with regard to school safety.

Willowbrook students received information about ALICE on Oct. 24 and participated in a drill with staff on Nov. 2.

Addison Trail students received information about ALICE on Oct. 30 and participated in a drill with staff on Nov. 1. District 88 administrators and staff members also have been trained.
