District 88 art departments offer honors option in all art courses

As District 88 continues its focus of aligning curriculum throughout the district, the art departments are excited to announce the opportunity for students to enroll in art honors courses.

Students in any grade at Addison Trail and Willowbrook can elect to take these classes. Honors courses provide students with the opportunity to earn weighted credit, which can increase their GPA.

Important information to keep in mind about the honors courses:

• There are five independent coursework elements that must be completed beyond the expectations listed on the class syllabus. Those involve a research paper, an art project based on artist style, a presentation, an extra art project and participation in art-related events.
• Students must apply for the honors option for each class in which the credit is offered.
• Students must determine their intention before the end of the 10th day of the semester.
