District 88 recognizes community leaders, first responders during inaugural Crosstown Showdown

On April 16, District 88 hosted its inaugural Crosstown Showdown between the Addison Trail Blazers and the Willowbrook Warriors, which featured the girls and boys track & field teams from both schools.

The event took place at Willowbrook, and the Warriors won, 402-302 (see the complete results at https://iptt.anet.live/meets/34675).

During the competition, the district introduced local community leaders, service group members and first responders to the crowd, to recognize and thank them for their support of the schools and for continuing to make a positive difference in the community.

  • Villa Park Chamber of Commerce Vice President and Kiwanis Club of Villa Park Secretary Rae Rupp Srch

  • Willowbrook physical education teacher and Girls Track & Field Head Coach Clyde Ware (who was recognized and thanked for his service with the United States Armed Forces)
