Project CRISS is the DuPage88's first tier
RtI intervention for all teachers and students. The District provides training for
all faculty and encourages the use of direct instruction to teach
learning strategies in their classroom instruction at
Addison Trail and Willowbrook High
Schools. Instructional
Leaders have been identified and provided with additional training
to expand the capacity of instructional coaching within departments and
the buildings.
Instructional leaders collaborate providing lessons, instructional
strategies, and research to give their students a rich learning
environment where they discuss, think, read
, write and experience authentic
learning. As learners develop background knowledge, strengthen
their metacognitive skills, experience
assessment for learning and engage in active classrooms -
literacy
and learning merge.
The CRISS Strategic Learning Plan (CSLP) is a general instructional
model that organizes instruction and integrates the various strategies
into a logical instructional flow. RtI involves everything the
learner does before, during, and after the instructional event to learn
the content information and is included in the CSLP.
