articles. We will do some research to get to more facts about these
issues and social problems..
You will research one of these
topics with a partner and gather information from several different
sources. Your task is organized into the following five (5) steps. NOTE:
You will receive the scoring rubric, "note sheets" and
"summary sheets" in class for this assignment.
#1. Gather
information on your assigned topic from a minimum of four sources:

from a book or magazine
(B.)
from an encyclopedia
(C.)
from the online sources web page (Pre-searched using Student Resource
Gold. Use addi_log for remote access):

Complete a note sheet for each source. The note sheets will be
distributed in class.
#3. Cite
your sources. Do this by writing the name of your source on
the "note sheet" as follows:

Author's last name, first name. Title. publisher, date
published.
Encyclopedia:
"Name of Article." Name of encyclopedia. Volume
number, year published.
Magazine Article:
Author's last name, first name.
"Title of article. Name of Magazine date published
(Day Month Year): pages.
Web Site:
Name of person who created the site. Title of site.
Name of institution or organization. Date of access. <URL>. |
#4.
Combine the information obtained from each source and write a summary of
your research on the "summary sheet."
#5. Your team will make a group
presentation using a visual that you create on the information you found.
