On April 26 and 27, Addison Trail will present its annual Orchesis Show.

This year’s theme is “Bring the Action,” and the event will feature about 20 dance numbers that showcase an array of styles such as hip-hop, jazz, lyrical, tap, modern/contemporary and musical theatre.

Every aspect of the show – from the choreography to the costumes to the lighting – is run by students, and the production involves more than 75 dancers, crew members and staff members. Alex Holod, Addison Trail Theatre Tech Assistant and alumnus from the class of 2009, will serve as Technical Director of the Orchesis Show and will assist students as they work on props, sets and lights for the event. Holod also was involved with the Orchesis Show when he was a student at Addison Trail.

Orchesis Presidents Annalisa Bucaro and Chloe Ludwig, who are both seniors, said audience members can look forward to a lot of excitement, as well as music from a variety of eras. They added this year’s show is unique because of the makeup of the Orchesis Team. A lot of girls joined this year who have backgrounds in different sports and spirit groups, and they’ve brought a lot of new energy and stepped up to the plate to make sure their dance is on par. The team also has a new co-sponsor in Shannon Le (Addison Trail science teacher), who works with LeVonne Cescolini-Boyer (Addison Trail social studies teacher and alumna, class of 1987, who has directed the Orchesis Team for 27 years).
