On March 7, students in Willowbrook Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher Amy Nowak’s Culinary Arts 2 class competed in a Chili Cook-Off.

Participants had to research a recipe to make as part of the course’s sauce, soup and starch unit. Entries were evaluated by judges, who rated the chili on presentation, flavor, texture, consistency, blend of spices, aroma and color.

Sophomore Jose Perez Cervantes was named as the winner of the contest. As the winner, he will get to choose a meal to make and enjoy.
