Three Addison Trail and three Willowbrook students receive West Suburban Conference GRIT Award

On Feb. 1, the West Suburban Conference Activities Directors and Principals hosted the third annual GRIT Award event at Main Event Entertainment in Warrenville. That program recognizes students in the conference who have made positive changes in their life for their dedication to improving their choices to help them be successful in school and beyond.

Recipients were given a certificate and also were able to invite a staff member who has helped them make better decisions.

The three Addison Trail students below received the GRIT Award.

  • Junior Juan Corral Jr. (invited Addison Trail ACHIEVE Social Worker Nadia Gomez-Moran)
  • Sophomore Alexsey Arzeta Soberanis (invited Addison Trail teacher Daniel Fernandez)
  • Junior LaRon Washington Jr.

The three Willowbrook students below received the GRIT Award.

  • Junior Christopher Vazquez (invited Willowbrook special education teacher Ron Brock)
  • Sophomore Ricardo Vazquez (invited Willowbrook science teacher John Fouser)
  • Senior Franshun Jordan (invited Willowbrook special education teacher aide Sam Key)
