Addison Trail’s Jessica D’Ambrose (class of 2020) recently received All-American recognition after her team won the 16 Aspire division at the 2018 AAU Girls Junior National Volleyball Championships.

That event took place from June 25 to 28 in Orlando, Fla. She also had to place in her age division at Nationals. To watch a video clip from the event, click the video above.

“When I was named All-American, I felt very excited and honored to accept the award!” D’Ambrose said. “I have always enjoyed playing volleyball – but the more I grow up, the more I enjoy it! The intensity of the game is an environment I love to be a part of. Volleyball has always been such a fun sport to me, especially because my teammates and coaches make the gym a place where I always want to be!”

D’Ambrose has been playing volleyball since she was “old enough to walk.” She began in the sport by joining her sisters, Danielle and Casey. Danielle also earned All-American recognition in 2005. D’Ambrose started with the Addison Girls Sports Program (AGSP) when she was in third grade and joined Sports Performance Volleyball Club in Aurora when she was in fourth grade, which is a travel team that competes throughout the U.S. She has been a member of the Addison Trail Varsity Girls Volleyball Team since her freshman year.

In the future, D’Ambrose hopes to continue with volleyball at the collegiate level. She said she’s interested in many colleges/universities throughout the U.S., but her dream school is The University of Arizona. While D’Ambrose is undecided in her major, she plans to pursue a career in the medical field.
